The HC85 series is a hybrid car that was released in 2019 as a replacement for the express "Hirami" and "Nanki" which operates on the KiHa 85 series.
The same uses a hybrid system, which uses power generated by the engine and the power stored in the storage battery, creating a system that drives the motor and reduces the environmental load.
In 2022, a mass production car was introduced and operated as a express "Hida" from July 2022 and a "Nanki" as an express "Nanki" from July 2023.
Similar is "Hira" in March 2023, and the KiHa 85 series that has completed regular operation in July 2023, and is flexible to fit operations from the minimum 2-car configuration to the longest 10-car structure.
